Oil Paintings

Oil paints have been my favorite medium since childhood. I loved watching my mother work in oils and could feel the magic she created in her wonderful paintings.

There have been times when both available space and ventilation forced me to choose other media but that only increased my appreciation of the rich color and delightful consistency of oils.

The large, mandala style paintings in this portfolio were mostly done in the mid-1990's while I was working in large formats on themes of self discovery and the divine feminine. The rest are various attempts to honor the mystery found in nature.
